Photography 2

In this course assignment, I created two conceptual photograph’s, one close up portrait with studio lights and one zoomed out photograph. I’ve used props that fit’s the concept, and I had to think outside the box The goal with a conceptual photography is to tell a story using props, lightning and other visual elements in the combination of posing. The photo needs to evoke emotions and represent a theme or narrative.

The process

To create a conceptual photography, it’s important to conduct a round of research, and create an idea factory on what the concept should be. I then created a moodboard and did my preperations for the photoshoot. I had a set of light’s and a lot of props to create the scene.

The warrior of life

The woman behind the sword is a warrior of life. She fights the dramatic and deadly illness called ALS. This is a women with many strengths, and two of her main strengts are positive thinking and never giving up without a fight. In the photos she shows us the fire in her eyes, and while holding the sword in her hand, she is not anyone to mess with. Nobody can tell her what she can’t choose life, not even the disease itself. She also shows us the strengt she got to continue her fight for life. She’s got so many plans and dreams for the future, and the sky is the limit.

In this close up portrait, I choose to have a good focus on her eyes, because the eyes are the mirror to your soul. And her soul is telling us that she’s got a lot of fight left in her.

She looks up in this zoomed out photo, because she’s a believer of God as well as a fighter. «It doesn’t matter what I get, I choose to fight.» She said. The photo tilts upwards to create a power position and a feeling of ownership.
